About the award
The FUTURE.IMPACT Award honours outstanding start-ups from the fields of GreenTech und Social Impactthat drive forward sustainable solutions with innovative business models. Overall 20.000 Euros of prize money awarded. The evaluation is carried out by a jury of investors, industry experts and companies based on the following criteria:
- Sustainability & Impact (25 %)- Long-term ecological and social impact
- Team & founder personality (25 %) - Expertise, vision and strength of implementation
- Market potential & scalability (20 %) - Economic viability and growth opportunities
- Degree of innovation & unique selling proposition (15 %) - Degree of innovation and differentiation
- Feasibility & business model (15 %) - Plausibility of business model and proof of concept

Process
The FUTURE.IMPACT Award honours start-ups that are driving sustainable change with their business models. The award ceremony takes place as part of the GREEN IMPACT Conference and offers a platform for innovative solutions with social and ecological added value.
1st round
A jury of experts reviews all applications and evaluates them according to a fixed evaluation matrix. The top 15 are selected from the resulting score.
2nd round
In the second round, a jury and public online voting will assess a mini pitch deck. The combined evaluation results in the top 5.
3. final round on stage
The five best start-ups pitch live at the GREEN IMPACT Conference in front of a jury and can win 1st - 3rd place and/or the audience award.

Jury selection
Our expert jury, consisting of our network partners, will go through all the applications submitted and select the top 15.

Online Voting
The selected top 15 will be published with a mini pitch. A jury and the community will select the top 5 in a voting process.

Pitches of the top 5
The selected top 5 will present their pitches to a 7-member jury at the GREEN IMPACT Conference and have the chance to win prize money totalling €20,000.

Expert panel
Our panel of experts will evaluate your application for the FUTURE.IMPACT Award in the first round and consists of experts from the start-up ecosystem in NRW.

Dr Christian Cremer heads the Innovation division at Forschungszentrum Jülich, one of the largest interdisciplinary research centres in Europe and a founding member of the Helmholtz Association.

Melanie Wagenfort
Melanie Wagenfort is Managing Director and Investment Manager of Heimatboost GmbH. Heimatboost is an angel investing community. 22 entrepreneurs from the Münsterland region invest together in sustainable start-ups.
Tatjana Pradzynski
Tatjana Pradzynski heads the CO_SPACE.DN incubator and has been working at WIN.DN GmbH, the business and innovation network of the city of Düren, for over eight years. After studying communication design, she worked as a designer and sole trader for well-known companies. Today, she puts her heart and soul into helping founders realise their business ideas, develop sustainable strategies and fully exploit their potential - from the initial idea to successful growth.
PhilipP Hauptmann
STS Ventures is a Cologne-based early-stage VC backing capital-efficient companies with stable growth prospects. With our two funds, we have already built a diverse portfolio of companies from different industries over the past years. We participate not only by providing capital, but also support the companies in their development with our years of experience and large network.
Andreas Mucke
Andreas Mucke is Managing Director of Circular Economy Accelerator GmbH, which operates the Circular Valley Accelerator Programme. He was previously mayor of the city of Wuppertal. In his current role, he promotes start-ups in the circular economy and is committed to sustainable innovation.
Ingo Stefes
Ingo has been active in various roles in the start-up ecosystem in the Düsseldorf region for almost 15 years and has been head of the Center for Entrepreneurship Düsseldorf, the start-up advisory centre at HHU, since October 2020. In addition to raising awareness among members of the university, the core task is to advise those interested in founding a company and support them in obtaining funding.
Elke Hohmann
Elke ist Diplom-Ingenieurin der Elektrotechnik mit einem MBA in International Finance. Nach erfolgreichen Jahren in internationalen Industrieunternehmen und über zwei Jahrzehnten in führenden Positionen bei der Industrie- und Handelskammer, bringt sie tiefes Know-how in Innovation, Digitalisierung und Netzwerkentwicklung mit. Heute begleitet sie als Abteilungsleiterin bei der Zukunftsagentur Rheinisches Revier mit großer Leidenschaft den Strukturwandel in einer der spannendsten Transformationsregionen Europas.
Sven Grabbe
Sven Grabbe ist als Business Development & Startup Innovation Manager der Founders Foundation für die Vernetzung von Startups & Mittelstand verantwortlich und leitet u.a. das OOTB.NRW-Projekt. Die Founders Foundation setzt sich als gemeinnützige Organisation für Unternehmertum ein.
Andi Dreger
Ich liebe es, Menschen, Ideen und Möglichkeiten zu verbinden – besonders dort, wo aus innovativen Ansätzen durch Zusammenarbeit echte Wirkung entsteht.
Als Mitgründer der impact konnection unterstütze ich dabei ein Ökosystem für soziale Nachhaltigkeit aufzubauen, das Unternehmen und Vereine strategisch und kreativ verbindet. Wir bringen Business-Know-how in die Vereinswelt und stärken Initiativen durch Beratung, Workshops und Corporate Volunteering-Maßnahmen. Gleichzeitig holen wir wertvolle soziale Kompetenzen der Vereine zu Themen wie Inklusion, Diversität und Gemeinschaftssinn in die Unternehmen. Verena Wagner (Leiterin DLR_Startup Factory)
Die DLR_Startup Factory bringt DLR-Technologien in den Markt. Wir begleiten Gründungsteams von der ersten Idee bis zur Ausgründung – mit einem klar strukturierten und umfangreichen Company-Building-Programm.
Peter Gier
Peter Gier leitet das Competence Center der AGIT im Kreis Düren. Die AGIT (Aachener Gesellschaft für Innovation und Technologietransfer mbH) ist die Wirtschaftsförderung für die Region Aachen (Stadt und StädteRegion Aachen, Kreise Düren und Euskirchen) mit Fokus auf Technologiethemen in den Bereichen Entrepreneur(ship), Innovation & Wachstum, Strukturwandel sowie Standortentwicklung. Peter Gier beschäftigt sich insbesondere mit Themen wie Erneuerbare Energien/Wasserstoff, nachhaltige Kreislaufwirtschaft und Bioökonomie.
Peter Kampmeier
Die GründerRegion Aachen, Düren, Euskirchen, Heinsberg ist die Dachorganisation für 15 Institutionen in der Wirtschaftsregion Aachen. Die Initiative zielt darauf ab, die Zahl qualifizierter Gründungen in der Region zu erhöhen, die Beratung und Begleitung zu optimieren und durch diese Aktivitäten den Strukturwandel in der Region voranzutreiben. Als Teil eines engagierten Teams koordiniert Peter Kampmeier seit 2017 den Wettbewerb „AC² – Gründen & Wachsen“. Er ist außerdem Ansprechpartner für das ehrenamtliche AC² – Beraternetzwerk und sorgt für einen stetigen Austausch der Projektpartner im Arbeitskreis der GründerRegion. Seine Schwerpunktthemen sind: Gründung & Startups, Unternehmenswachstum und Green Economy. In seiner Freizeit schwingt Peter sich gerne auf das Mountainbike oder lässt beim Karate Dampf ab.
